Jerome Martin

American, 1926 - 2017


Jerome Martin was born in 1926 in New York, NY. He was a fine artist and illustrator. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, France from 1946-1947 on a scholarship awarded from the US Army. He also studied at City College of New York, New York, NY, Cooper Union Art School, New York, NY, New York University, New York, NY, receiving his Master of Fine Art there in 1951.

Martin created illustrations for such magazines as Fortune, Sports Illustrated, Ladies Home Journal, Saturday Evening Post and Playboy.

He was an instructor at the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY for 30 years. In 2019, he died in Great Barrington, NY at the age of 91.
