My Kind of Town

Eigil G. Rasmussen was born in Nastved, Denmark in 1913. He emigrated to the United States with his family in 1925, first settling in Kansas City, KS and then making their way to Chicago in the early 1930s. As an adult, Rasmussen lived in Chicago and worked as a commercial artist specializing in scientific illustration. In the late 1960s, he exhibited his Chicago themed paintings at an Oak Street Gallery in Chicago and at a Gallery in Arlington Heights, IL.
