J. Jeffrey Grant

American, 1883 - 1960


J. Jeffrey Grant was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He emigrated to the United States and settled in Chicago in the 1920s. He is best known for his images of Gloucester, where Grant spent his summers.

In 1935 he had a one-man exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago. He exhibited widely at numerous other venues including the National Academy of Design, New York, NY, The Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC and the Pennsylvania Academy, Philadelphia, PA.

His artwork can be found in the permanent collection of the Union League Club of Chicago.
